Create a blister package and retail display tray to market and protect the six batteries, while actively reflecting Contour’s commitment to producing sustainable products.
The Blister: FCP worked with the client to design and produce a re-closeable blister pack made from responsibly sourced, 100% recyclable materials. The blister itself was uniquely designed to feature stadium seating to securely snap the six quarter-sized batteries into place. For additional sustainability, FCP designed a re-closeable feature on the blister by putting a negative draft into the sidewall’s perimeter to create a friction and lock back panel that allows consumers to store unused coin cells (after the blister card has been removed). Clear illustrations on the packaging help consumers take advantage of this feature. Additionally, a retail peg holder was conveniently included in the design of the blister card to give retailers more options for display. The Retail Display Tray: FCP designed a retail display tray to reflect the stadium style seating design in the blister package itself. The tray was produced with a vacuum-formed base made of .04 black styrene that holds up to 24 battery packs. A paperboard display attached to the back of the base used bold, eye-catching copy and shimmering holographic foil to attract consumers and deliver the “WOW” factor.
