When developing the initial design or redesigning an existing product package, there is much to structurally and aesthetically consider to ensure your product and packaging perform. The design stage in packaging development is critical to its production and shipping future. Typically, the process starts with a product, with or without existing packaging or ideas. With that, the product owner / manager typically sits down with a packaging designer to discuss objectives, ideas, and concepts. From there, the designer uses sophisticated software to create concepts, renderings and drawings to work through feedback before heading to the prototype and tooling stages.
